It’s time for this year’s first patch committee sale, this Wednesday lunch (as usual, just outside of META) 🤩 Seems that another year of students have gotten a patch for themselves too, might even be so that it’s gonna be there… 🤔

On Saturday, January 18, the International Committee 🌍 will be hosting a medieval-themed Royal Gasque! 🫅 The King of META is inviting you in his castle to enjoy a delicious feast in honour of his kingdom. The dinner is between 18h and 22h, with an afterparty open to everyone.

At the Lynx Hackathon, you will work in teams to create a fully systematic trading strategy based on real market data. Your algorithm will be evaluated in a virtual environment at the end of the event, allowing you to see how your idea would have worked in the real financial market. There will be investment professionals from our research and trading department at your disposal to answer questions and guide you through the process. Hey chapter!

Prylmångleriet (the patch committee) will have a Machine embroidery workshop on Thursday next week (19:th), between 17-19. We'll meet outside of META, and go to V together for the workshop.

If you want to activly participate, remember to bring a computer with you (and a **usb-stick **if you got one), especially if you want to use one of the two embroidery machines, which will be available. In preparation, you could install InkScape with the Ink/Stitch plugin, to be able to make embroidery files.

Vårbalken is an event jointly organized by METAdorerna and the Spring Ball Army. We’ll head out to THS’s cabin, Osqvik, and have a blast chilling from 14:00 on January 4th until the morning of January 5th (staying overnight is optional, and sleeping spots are not guaranteed). There will be dinner, but most importantly, an open fire, a sauna, and plenty of cozy vibes!

Rise up gamers, it's time to assemble for an awesome LAN.

During the weekend starting Friday 20 December 18:00, and ending Sunday morning, DESC will hold a LAN in META with game tournaments and a fun atmosphere.

Bring your computers to play games throughout the night, play Nintendo Switch, experience VR in Meta Quest 2 and play board games! 🎮 🎲 Vi will play games like Lethal Company, Jackbox and Pico Park together, or you can play whatever you want with others at the LAN.

Practical info Snacks and drink (alcohol free) will be available for free, and Billy pizzas sold. Alcohol and drunkenness in META will not be allowed. As usual no nuts either, to respect those with allergies.

Bring an ethernet cable (3+m recommended) and a branch outlet if you can. You’re not allowed to sleep in META but there will be places to sleep in Annexet in Nymble during both nights, so bring a sleeping bag too if you’ll be sleeping there.

It's +1-policy so feel free to bring another KTH student!

Next Tuesday 2️⃣ and Wednesday 💒 (December 10 & 11), the International Committees 🌍 for the D/Me/E/MiT Chapters will once again be collaborating to bring you Mediator 2024, an incredible Christmas tradition spanning two Chapter Halls. This year, the event will have two parts:

• 👷 Part 1 (Tue 10/Dec 17:17 @ META) — Gingerbread Building Competition: show off your creativity and coordination in a race to build the best gingerbread house with your friends. This will happen during QN, so you can play normal board games after the competition.
• 🍻 Part 2 (Wed 11/Dec 18:12 @ Tolvan) — Gingerbread Smashing Pub: hang out with people from other Chapters (open to all KTH!) and tear down + eat a bunch of awesome gingerbread houses.

This is a great opportunity to meet people from all over KTH and visit a different Chapter Hall than what you're used to. In addition, you'll get a one-of-a-kind super-duper-cool two-part patch for free just for attending and building! 🤑 You'll get one kitten on Tuesday and another kitten on Wednesday - and then they fit together!
