Unfortunately the pub will happen a bit later than planned 😵‍💫, so we will close the vote on Wednesday next week (4/11) so that we can order the patch as quickly as possible. 🏃🏃 The winner will however still be revealed at ✨ Prylispuben ✨.

Can you believe it guys? METAcraft season 6 is just 6 hours away! Woohoo! I am so happy about this information! 🤩 🤩 🤩 If you've been living under bedrock and missed the daily updates on our Discord server the past week, here's a quick recap for you:

METAcraft is KTH's biggest awesomest Minecraft community, and this year we've partnered up with the IT chapter to go even further beyond. We've reset the world and filled it with amazing custom features like wearing your ovve and sew patches ingame, and a bunch of technical changes you can leaf through on our very own wiki, continuously updated as the server grows.

Launch day is always our biggest busiest day with the most amount of players, so make sure you don't miss the once-in-a-lifetime 50+ player chaos!

Whether or not you qualify for veteran's discount or just bought Minecraft yesterday, there's something here for everyone to enjoy. Grab your friends! Invite your non-KTH acquaintances! Make new friends on the server! Install the proximity voice chat mod so you can clip those funny moments!

Due to the newly discovered PHP vulnerability, several of the Computer Science Chapter's systems have been shut down for security reasons.

One of these systems is val.datasektionen.se, which means we need to switch to a new system to process nominations and acceptances for the supplementary elections that are still open.

The open by-elections are for the positions of Storasyskon, Konglig Öfverdrif, STUDS Lead, and D-fest. The nomination deadline is October 25th at 23:59, and the acceptance deadline is October 26th at 23:59.

If you would like to nominate someone for any of these positions, you can do so by sending an email to valberedare@datasektionen.se.

If you want to accept a nomination, or decline a nomination you previously accepted, you can do so by replying to the email you received from the Election Committee (Valberedningen)!

Don’t worry, because soon it’s finally time for dÅre 2027! dÅre is the Computer Science Chapter’s annual ski trip to Åre (which about 96.4% of the time actually goes to Åre). This year we’re gathering 144 excited computer science students for 5 unforgettable days at Skistar Student Skiweek with skiing, après-ski, sauna hangouts, and much more! The trip starts late on Saturday, January 16, with the bus heading north, and we’ll be back on Thursday, January 21. This is something you definitely don’t want to miss!

This year we’re offering two types of tickets: with transport (4600 SEK) and without transport (3530 SEK). If you choose a ticket without transport, you’ll need to arrange your own travel to and from Åre. Both tickets include accommodation, ski pass, badge, and dÅre merch. Prices are preliminary and subject to change.

Depending on how active you are during the trip, we’ll subsidize the cost by up to 800 SEK. More info on this will follow.

Priority will be given to members of the Computer Science Chapter. If spots remain, tickets may be offered to friends or partners (as long as they are students).

• Starting today you (D-26, that is) can submit designs (the actual print) as well as what text should be on the patch ("MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOOOOOOW", that's what was on D24's patch). You will be able to do this for 2 weeks, i.e. until Wednesday October 14th at 23:59. So put on your ovves and unleash your inner design demon! 🎨 😈 (demon??)
• After you have submitted your designs and text you will of course get to vote (love democracy 🤝). You will get to choose which of the submitted designs you want and which text. 🤩 🤩

But what would democracy be without an absolutely epic reveal of the results? Some time after the vote has opened (roughly two weeks) the result will be revealed at the legendary ✨ Prylispuben ✨ at 20:15 (date TBD 😬).

After the Chapter Meeting (SM) decided to move the election of D-Fest to the Summer Chapter Meeting (Sommar-VM) instead of the Winter Chapter Meeting (Vinter-VM), this was not announced as a standard election.

Since the current D-Fest is elected until December 31st, this would leave us without a D-Fest! We cannot allow this, and therefore a by-election (fyllnadsval) for D-Fest is now open.

The mandate given by this election will span from the 1st of January to the 30th of june.

Since one of the candidates, a member of the election committee, the head of the election committee, or one of the auditors requested it, the election documents are confidential. This means you will need to log in to your Datasektionen account, or physically attend the SM (Chapter Meeting), to get access to the election documents.

Hello all (alleged) computer science students!

The board has heard some rumors regarding the fact that the membership registry at THS is having some trouble with assigning students their correct chapters. This is a PSA to let you know that you should double check this.

You can do this by:

1. Opening the Mecenat app on your phone
2. Click the field "Kort" in the bar at the bottom of the page
3. Once you see your digital student card, click the Mecenat symbol at the bottom left corner
4. Now you see another page with more information regarding your student card. At the bottom there should be a table with a cell called "Sektion" [translation: chapter]. To the right of that cell, there should be another cell filled with "Datasektionen D" [translation: Computer Science].

If you do not see this information, you need to double check your membership by going to the THS front desk in Nymble. This also applies if you see a different chapter than "Datasektionen D" iny our card.

We recommend doing this before the chapter meeting on thursday!

Do you like sports and want to show that CS students actually do sports too? 💻 Do you have a sport you can't get enough of and would love to share with the chapter? Help organize events! 🏐🏸

The Sports Committee is an open committee, which means there are no specific requirements on how much you need to do. You simply do as much as you want. This could mean helping out with our weekly Sunday sports or planning other larger events like climbing or curling 🥌. Or possibly something completely different that you think would be fun.

On Wednesday, September 23, from 12:00 to 13:00, we will hold an introductory meeting for the Sports Committee in META’s meeting room to go over the upcoming semester. We will review the events to be organized and assign responsibilities to those who want to help out!
