Are you craving snow and skiing? Don’t worry, because soon it’s finally time for dÅre 2027! dÅre is the Computer Science Chapter’s annual ski trip to Åre (which about 96.4% of the time actually goes to Åre). This year we will be gathering 144 excited computer science students for 5 unforgettable days at Skistar Student Skiweek with skiing, après-ski, sauna hangouts, and much more! The trip starts late on Saturday, January 16, with the transport heading north, and we’ll be back on Thursday, January 21. This is something you definitely don’t want to miss!

Since one of the candidates, a member of the election committee, the head of the election committee, or one of the auditors requested it, the election documents are confidential. This means you will need to log in to your Datasektionen account, or physically attend the SM (Chapter Meeting), to get access to the election documents.

Hello all (alleged) computer science students!

The board has heard some rumors regarding the fact that the membership registry at THS is having some trouble with assigning students their correct chapters. This is a PSA to let you know that you should double check this.

You can do this by:

1. Opening the Mecenat app on your phone
2. Click the field "Kort" in the bar at the bottom of the page
3. Once you see your digital student card, click the Mecenat symbol at the bottom left corner
4. Now you see another page with more information regarding your student card. At the bottom there should be a table with a cell called "Sektion" [translation: chapter]. To the right of that cell, there should be another cell filled with "Datasektionen D" [translation: Computer Science].

If you do not see this information, you need to double check your membership by going to the THS front desk in Nymble. This also applies if you see a different chapter than "Datasektionen D" iny our card.

We recommend doing this before the chapter meeting on thursday!

Do you like sports and want to show that CS students actually do sports too? 💻 Do you have a sport you can't get enough of and would love to share with the chapter? Help organize events! 🏐🏸

The Sports Committee is an open committee, which means there are no specific requirements on how much you need to do. You simply do as much as you want. This could mean helping out with our weekly Sunday sports or planning other larger events like climbing or curling 🥌. Or possibly something completely different that you think would be fun.

On Wednesday, September 23, from 12:00 to 13:00, we will hold an introductory meeting for the Sports Committee in META’s meeting room to go over the upcoming semester. We will review the events to be organized and assign responsibilities to those who want to help out!

D-festeriet is the party committee of the Computer Science chapter, and arrange mainly gasques (dinner parties) but also a ton of various other events for the chapter!

If you think that any of the following sounds fun, D-festeriet is right for you:

Arrange gasques, pubs, and other events for the chapter. Host events like pubs for other committees or projects, to make the party life more accessible to others! Go together to both our own chapters and other chapters and schools gasques, pubs and parties, to spread the wonderful culture of the Computer Science chapter far and wide! Have super fun hangouts and maxed parties together!

There are a ton of different things you can help out with, everything from planning to graphics to bartending to photography, and we're sure that there is something for you! If you want to try something you've never done before, like bartending, its also a perfect opportunity to learn from the older members of the commitee.

Dont believe that you need to drink alcohol either, we have several members that dont drink but are still the center of every party!

So no matter if you're drawn in by the prospect of arranging events, hanging out with other chapters and schools, or just want a group to party with, APPLY NOW and try the whole package!

Elections for Konglig Öfverdrifv are now open!

Due to the blackout and the early date of Budget-SM, as Chair of the Election Committee, I have made the decision to run the election for Konglig Öfverdrifv on a by-election timeline.

This means nominations close 4 days prior to the election, and acceptances close 3 days prior.

While this decision isn't explicitly grounded in the governing documents, it is the most practical solution for this specific scenario.

If you've already read the board's election reform proposal, you'll know it aims to prevent situations like this in future years.
