As you hopefully know, our wonderful chapter belongs to the almost equally wonder School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS)! Long ago, the four chapters belonging to EECS coordinated gasques in harmoni and blablabla... you know where I'm going with this: there will be an EECS-gasque!!! 🥳 🥳

The ticket release will be on Thursdag, the 11th of April at 19:00. in META (and Tolvan... and Kistan for that matter...) you can find the tickets on Tessera. The gasque itself will start 18:00 in Nya matsalen in Nymble on Tuesday the 7th of May.

This week (Saturday 30th) we will play ball games for 1 hour.

I will try to vary the sports in the following weeks. And please come with suggestions for what we can do!!!

For those who don't know, Data Et Medias OrquesterNämnd (DEMON) is Computer Science and Media's very own, open music club! You can think of us as the chapter band, but we also work to promote music interest in CS and Media and support all of you who are interested in playing music within the chapter! That's why we're an open club, where anyone can participate in one of our jam sessions (more information about that can be found on our Discord server).

But because we are an open committee, we also don't have a permanent group of players that can be said to make up the band. So for performances, we now ask that you to step up on stage and take the chance to entertain the sections with your musical talent! 🎶🎸🔥

Are you curious about singing in a choir? 🎶 Or have you been singing since you were five and want to find somewhere to do that in the chapter? Your wait is finally over! 🎉

On 11 April at 6pm, Scala will have an open rehearsal where all chapter members can come and sing!

Scala is the CS chapter's very own choir, and we sing together at the level you are every Thursday! We usually rehearse a few songs each semester, and those who want to (a subset) also sometimes have performances.

The idea is that it is an opportunity to relax and think about something other than your studies for a while. No experience is required! You don't need to know your part, you don't need to be able to read music, you just need to have the will to sing together. ❤️

What will happen is first a warm-up, where we do some easy singing exercises, and then we divide into our parts to practice a song. If you don't know which part you are, you'll come with me and we'll find out. Then when we have rehearsed for a while, we gather again and sing the song together. If we have time, we take another song.

Then we will continue to rehearse every Thursday in roughly the same way. But please come on the 11th if you are new to get as good an introduction as possible.

The room we have this year is V01 (not V1, it's two different rooms!).

Welcome to P4 and with that will Prylmångleriet start hosting sewing circles!!! Our very own Agnes Lindencrona will be in META on Tuesdays from 17:30 o'clock and available to ask for sewing tips. (Starts today, cya in META!)

On March 25, 2024, at 12:15, A Brief-Meeting-after TentaP-DM will take place in the Meeting Room in META.

During the meeting, the board will discuss various topics including recent PC Decisions, the THS Comradery Scholarship, the opening of projects, and possibly other incoming matters.

Big news!! On the 26th of March at 17:30 in META, QN and DESC will hold the 🔥SICKEST🔥 Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament since Winter 2023!!! Everyone from the Data and Media chapters is welcome and every chapter member can also bring one additional external participant (+1)! The tournament will be a double-elimination, which means if you lose two games you are out of the tournament (i.e. don't lose to win!). The matches themselves will be 1v1! The ruleset for the matches themselves are the standard tournament ruleset: https://www.ssbwiki.com/Tournament_rulesets_(SSBU) DLC characters (exempting Steve) are allowed! Some Switches might not have all DLCs, bring your own Switch if you want to be sure. On Monday next week (18/3), at 15:15, we will embark from META on a magical photo walk 📸🚶, organized by Media's Photography Group ️️️📷 and the International Committee 🌍!

As the name suggests, participants simply bring their own cameras and take a nice walk together, all the while taking and sharing pictures. After the event, there will be an opportunity to submit your favorite photos in different categories for public voting. The winners will be posted on Instagram and showcased in META for a limited time for all Chapter members to see! 🏆🖼️

The photo walk will also be a great opportunity for Swedish and International students to meet and be creative together! Moreover, if you don't own a camera (phones 📱 also count as cameras!), it's completely fine to just join for the walk - both the International Committee and the Photography Group would love to see you there! There might even be rumors of free fika... 🍪

SM has just now (literally) introduced D-festeriet and with that the application has opened! Now you may be wondering: "What is D-festeriet?" D-festeriet is a club with the purpose of arranging events where members of our chapters get the chance to interact with each other, as well as potentially with other students too. This is a work that I in the long run have very grandiose plans for, so if you are interested in laying the groundworks for this, apply to D-festeriet!
